This video is hella old so probably won’t even get a response but this is the only video I’ve ever found of the Iowa test. I’m taking my test in a week and I’m extremely nervous. I have an R3 and I’m super worried about the cone weave and the u turn.

Maybe a dumb question, but how do you take the test for the bike you own if you have to drive it to the testing site in the first place? I dont have anyone around me who can drive legally and i just inherited a street bike but ive been driving since i was 10. Im competent on the bike but have no idea how get it over there to take the test in the first place

For anybody wondering, I just went through the process of getting my motorcycle license, these are still the same test. I did the msf class and the instructor informed us that 4 of the 5 skill test we do in the final test are on the DOT drive test. It is a BREEZE. I recommend you borrow or take a smaller bike because it will be way easier! The only tough part about this test was the U-turn and maybe the quick stop!

It seems like the low horsepower of the Ruckus is an advantage in slippery conditions. No one else is driving fast either, so you won't have to worry about traffic coming up behind as much. It'd be cool to set up a Ruckus as a winter bike with grip warmers and knobbies, chains or studs.

The iowa dmv should be classed as a hate group. I was harassed becasuse of my bi racial child by a trooper and I filed a complaint with the dmv and I have been harassed by the dmv since. They keep losing my tests. My cdl tests I passed several months ago the same thing on my motorcycle test and they denied I had a cdl until I produced the card, this is the hate kim reynolds brings to Iowa

Did they actually run your VIN and make sure it was a motorcycle before you took the test? Or did everyone just meet in the parking lot and take the test? Might try to take it on my buddy 50cc scooter and take the flag off.

Wondering if you or anyone on here has had issues with your ruckus overheating in the winter because of the spark plug? Or any other reason I noticed there's different spark plugs for this bike and the manual one for below 41°

It's not a good idea something will informed you anyway at 40 miles per hour that's a 65 zone then you're doing 40 you cant do that

This looks fun. I think I am going to get one now. I have been looking at it for a while now but this looks to fun to not do. It would be dangerous on roads but my 25 MPH residential roads I mostly can take wouldn't be bad.

i think on a little scooter like that there’s no harm in pulling off to the shoulder and either riding that out or straight up turning around and taking the shoulder back the 200 feet you came from. regardless just trusting in everyone to move around you on the freeway is a death sentence if you ride it long enough.
